Annual Inflation Down to 1.9% in the Euro Area in May 2025

The euro area annual inflation rate was 1.9% in May 2025, down from 2.2% in April. A year earlier, the rate was 2.6%. European Union annual inflation was 2.2% in May 2025, down from 2.4% in April. A year earlier, the rate was 2.7%. These figures are published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
In May 2025, the highest contribution to the annual euro area inflation rate came from services (+1.47 percentage points, pp), followed by food, alcohol & tobacco (+0.62 pp), non-energy industrial goods (+0.16 pp) and energy (-0.34 pp).
