Mr. Sezai UÇARMAK was born in Korgan, Ordu in 1964. He completed elementary school in Korgan and his secondary and high school education in Samsun in 1983. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration in 1987 from Istanbul University.

He began his active duty in 1987 as an Assistant Customs Investigator in the Ministry of Finance and Customs. He proceeded his career as a Customs Investigator, and then as a Chief Customs Investigator after the establishment of the Undersecretariat of Customs. He received a Master of Finance degree from Istanbul University. From 1994 to 1998, he lectured on ‘Customs and Foreign Trade’ in Vocational School of Social Sciences of Istanbul University. In 2000, he paid a yearlong working visit to the USA in order to examine the “Second Inspection and Post Control” procedures.

From June 2003 to December 2005, he served as the Director General of Customs. Then, he worked as Chief Customs Investigator until May 2008. Mr. UÇARMAK carried on his duty as the Head of the Office of Investigation and Guidance until November 2011. From November 2011 to July 2018, he served as the Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Customs and Trade. He was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Trade on January 18, 2019.
Mr. UÇARMAK is married with three children and fluent in English.
