The World Bank has released its Global Economic Prospects Report for June 2025. In the report, the global growth forecast for 2025 has been revised down from 2.7% (as projected in January) to 2.3%. This marks the lowest growth rate since 2008, excluding years marked by global crises. Growth for 2026 and 2027 is projected at 2.4% and 2.6%, respectively. The growth forecast for the U.S. economy was lowered from 2.3% to 1.4% for 2025, and from 2.0% to 1.6% for 2026. In the Euro Area, the growth projections were revised down from 1.0% to 0.7% for 2025, and from 1.3% to 0.8% for 2026. China’s economy is expected to grow by 4.5% in 2025, unchanged from the January forecast.
