US New Orders for Manufactured Durable Goods Increased to 286,6 Billion Dollars in October

New orders for manufactured durable goods in October, up following two consecutive monthly decreases, increased $0.7 billion or 0.2 percent to $286.6 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau reported. This followed a 0.4 percent September decrease.

Excluding transportation, new orders increased 0.1 percent. Excluding defense, new orders increased 0.4 percent. Transportation equipment, also up following two consecutive monthly decreases, led the increase, $0.4 billion or 0.5 percent to $97.1 billion.
