The ifo Business Climate Index rose in April to 86.9 points, up from 86.7 points in March.

In manufacturing, the index fell again after a strong increase in the previous month. In the service sector, the business climate improved. In trade, the index fell. In construction, the business climate was at its highest level since May 2023.
