The inflation rate in Germany, measured as the year-on-year change in the consumer price index (CPI), stood at +2.4% in May 2024. The rate of change was +2.2% in both April and March 2024. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that consumer prices in May 2024 rose by 0.1% on April 2024.

The inflation rate excluding food and energy, often referred to as core inflation, was +3.0%.
