Production in industry in real terms (price adjusted) was down 2.4% in December 2024 month on month after seasonal and calendar adjustment, according to provisional data provided by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). The less volatile three-month on three-month comparison showed that production was 0.9% lower in the period from October to December 2024 than in the previous three months. After revision of the provisional results, production increased by 1.3% in November 2024 compared with October 2024 (provisional figure: +1.5%).
Compared with December 2023, production was down 3.1% in December 2024 after adjustment for calendar effects. In 2024 as a whole, production was 4.5% lower than in 2023 on a calendar adjusted basis.
