The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis announced today that the goods and services deficit was $84.4 billion in September, up $13.6 billion from $70.8 billion in August, revised. September exports were $267.9 billion, $3.2 billion less than August exports. September imports were $352.3 billion, $10.3 billion more than August imports. Year-to-date, the goods and services deficit increased $69.6 billion, or 11.8 percent, from the same period in 2023. Exports increased $84.7 billion or 3.7 percent. Imports increased $154.4 billion or 5.3 percent.
