China's trade surplus widened significantly to USD 114.8 billion in June 2025, up from USD 98.9 billion in the same period a year earlier, and exceeding market expectations of USD 109 billion.
Exports rose by 5.8% year-on-year, slightly above the forecast of 5.0%, while imports increased by 1.1%, slightly below the expected 1.3%.
For the first half of 2025, China recorded a total trade surplus of USD 586 billion, with exports advancing 5.9%, while imports declined 3.9% compared to the same period in 2024.
