In June 2024, German exports were down 3.4% and imports were up 0.3% on a calendar and seasonally adjusted basis compared with May 2024. Based on provisional data, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that exports decreased by 4.4% and imports fell by 6.4% compared with June 2023.

The foreign trade balance showed a surplus of 20.4 billion euros in June 2024. The calendar and seasonally adjusted surplus stood at +25.3 billion euros in May 2024 and +19.0 billion euros in June 2023.
