Euro area annual inflation is expected to be 10.0% in September 2022, up from 9.1% in August according to a flash estimate from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, energy is expected to have the highest annual rate in September (40.8%, compared with 38.6% in August), followed by food, alcohol & tobacco (11.8%, compared with 10.6% in August) and non-energy industrial goods (5.6%, compared with 5.1% in August).
