In October 2023, the Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) stabilized in both the EU (+0.2 points to 93.1) and the euro area (-0.1 points to 93.3).

In October 2023, DG ECFIN’s flash estimate of the consumer confidence indicator was practically unchanged in the EU (±0 compared to September) and the euro area (0.1 percentage points (pps.) down). At -18.7 (EU) and ‑17.9 (euro area) pps., consumer confidence continued scoring well below its long-term average.
