The inflation rate in Germany, measured as the year-on-year change in the consumer price index (CPI), stood at +2.1% in April 2025. The rate of inflation has therefore continued to ease since the start of the year, after standing at +2.2% in March 2025, and +2.3% in both January and February 2025. Compared with March 2025, consumer prices rose by 0.4% in April 2025. The inflation rate excluding food and energy, often referred to as core inflation, was +2.9% in April 2025.
