According to preliminary estimates, the gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter reached 29,629.9 billion yuan, up by 5.3 percent year on year at constant price, or up by 1.6 percent over that in the fourth quarter of 2023.
The quarter-on-quarter growth of GDP in 2023 and in the first quarter of 2024 are 1.8 percent, 0.5 percent, 1.8 percent, 1.2 percent and 1.6 percent respectively.
