OECD Revises Down Global Growth Forecast for 2025 and 2026 to 3.1% and 3.0%, Respectively
18 March 2025According to the Economic Outlook Report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the global growth forecasts for 2025 and 2026 have been revised downwards from 3.3% to 3.1% and 3.0%, respectively. In the report, the growth forecast for the US economy in 2025 was revised down by 0.2 percentage points to 2.2%, while the 2026 forecast was lowered by 0.5 percentage points to 1.6%. For the Euro Area, growth expectations for 2025 and 2026 were revised downwards by 0.3 percentage points to 1.0% and 1.2%, respectively.
The G20 annual average inflation rate was revised upwards to 3.8% for 2025 (previous forecast: 3.5%) and to 3.2% for 2026 (previous forecast: 2.9%).
