Foreign Trade Expectation Survey of 2nd Quarter of 2022

Export and Import Expectation Indices realized for the 2nd quarter of 2022.
 
  
08 April 2022 - Foreign Trade Expectation Survey (FTES) reflects assessments of Turkish leading foreign trade firms regarding recent and current situations along with their future expectations. Particularly, it helps to produce indices that can be stated as leading indicators.
 

FTEI* = 100: A stable outlook to the foreign trade by the leading firms covered by the Foreign Trade Expectation Survey.
FTEI > 100: A positive outlook to the foreign trade by the leading firms covered by the Foreign Trade Expectation Survey.
FTEI < 100: A negative outlook to the foreign trade by the leading firms covered by the Foreign Trade Expectation Survey.

According to the Survey conducted between the dates of 1-18 March 2022, Export Expectation Index realized as 121.3 in the 2nd quarter of 2022. Diffusion indices of survey questions composing the Export Expectation Index show that the expectations regarding exports and export orders for the next 3 months have increasing effects over the Index while the level of current export orders and the export orders of the last 3 months have decreasing effects over the Index compared to the previous quarter.
 
Import Expectation Index realized as 110.6 in the 2nd quarter of 2022. Among the survey questions identifying the Import Expectation Index, the expectations for the next 3 months regarding the imports and the level of current import orders have decreasing effects over the Index while the import unit price for the next 3 months and the level of import orders of the last 3 months have increasing effects over the Index compared to the previous quarter.
