Export and Import Expectation Indices realized for the 1st quarter of 2020.
09 January, 2020 - Foreign Trade Expectation Survey (FTES) reflects assessments of Turkish leading foreign trade firms regarding recent and current situations along with their future expectations. Particularly, it helps to produce indices that can be stated as leading indicators.
FTEI > 100: A positive outlook to the foreign trade by the leading firms covered by the Foreign Trade Expectation Survey.
FTEI < 100: A negative outlook to the foreign trade by the leading firms covered by the Foreign Trade Expectation Survey.

Export Expectation Index realized as 113.9 in the 1st quarter of 2020. Diffusion indices of survey questions composing the Export Expectation Index show that, in the 1st quarter of 2020, expectations regarding exports (126.9) and export orders for the next 3 months (120.2) have decreasing effect over the Index while the level of current export orders (93.8) and the export orders of the last 3 months (114.6) have increasing effect over the Index compared with the previous quarter.
Import Expectation Index realized as 105.9 in the 1st quarter of 2020. Among the survey questions identifying the Import Expectation Index, the expectations regarding the level of import orders of the last 3 months (88.0) have decreasing effect over the Index while other survey questions have increasing effect over the Index compared with the previous quarter.
