Rıza Tuna TURAGAY
Deputy Minister of Trade
Mr. Rıza Tuna Turagay was born in Vienna in 1964. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Business Administration and completed his master’s studies at the University of Birmingham in the field of International Banking and Finance. Mr. Turagay started his career in 1987 as an Assistant Specialist in the Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of the Treasury and Foreign Trade, where he served until 1997 in the positions of Specialist, Branch Manager, Advisor to the Undersecretary and Advisor to the Minister. Mr. Turagay has also served as the Trade Counsellor in the Turkish Embassy in Washington D.C. between 1997 and 2000. Later on, he respectively served as Deputy General Director of Export in Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, President of Prime Ministry Housing Development Administration, Acting Chairman of Real Estate Investment Partnership Board, Deputy Undersecretary of Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Customs, Board Member of Turkish Export Promotion Center and Acting Undersecretary of Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Customs between 2000 and 2006. Mr. Turagay also served as TED Board Member and Equestrian Federation Board Member during the same period. He continued his career in private sector between 2006 and January of 2019. During this period, Mr. Turagay has served as the Director and Board Member in private sector, Board Member of Exporters Unions, and Member of Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM).
Mr. Turagay was appointed as Deputy Minister of Trade on January 18, 2019. Mr. Turagay has also been serving as a Board Member and Vice Chairman of Turk Eximbank since February 5, 2019.
